General Brand & Ethics

Our products are ethically sourced from trusted artisan makers and certified manufacturers across Australia, Europe, and Asia. Each product page lists the country of origin. We work exclusively with suppliers who meet our ethical sourcing standards — fair wages, safe working conditions, and sustainable practices.

Yes — we use plastic-free packaging wherever possible. Orders are shipped in recycled cardboard boxes with compostable tissue paper and paper-based void fill. We never use polystyrene or single-use plastic bubble wrap. Any adhesive tape used is water-activated and paper-based.

All BlueBush products are covered by Australian Consumer Law guarantees. For manufacturing defects, please contact us within 12 months of purchase and we'll arrange a replacement or refund. We stand behind the quality of everything we sell.

The majority of our products are vegan. Exceptions include our Silk Eye Mask (natural silk), Beeswax Wrap products (beeswax), and Wool Throw (merino wool). These exceptions are clearly noted on each product page. None of our products are tested on animals.

Yes, we offer trade pricing for interior designers, architects, and businesses ordering in volume. Please get in touch with your business details and requirements and we'll send you our trade pricing guide.

Textiles — Linen, Bamboo & Weighted Blankets

Our Maireana linen range uses 100% French flax, grown in the Normandy region of France. French flax is prized for its long fibres, which produce a softer, stronger linen than shorter-fibre alternatives. It's OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, meaning it's free from harmful substances.

Our linen is pre-washed so it has already gone through its main shrinkage cycle. You can expect minimal (1–3%) further shrinkage with standard washing. We recommend washing in cold or warm water (max 40°C) and tumble drying on low, or line drying for best results.

Our Bamboo Lyocell Quilt Insert uses bamboo Lyocell — a more sustainable closed-loop process than standard bamboo viscose. In the Lyocell process, 99% of the solvent used is recovered and recycled. Our Bamboo Towel Set uses bamboo viscose blended with organic cotton for the ideal softness-durability balance.

As a general guide, choose a blanket that is approximately 10% of your body weight. Our 5kg blanket suits adults up to 50kg, the 7kg suits 50–70kg, and the 9kg suits 70–90kg+. For children, always consult a healthcare professional before use. We use glass beads — not plastic pellets — for even weight distribution and a quieter, more temperature-neutral feel.

Kitchen & Dining — Ceramics, Wood & Wraps

Yes — all our Saltbush ceramic dinnerware is dishwasher safe (top rack recommended for longest life) and microwave safe. Our glazes are lead-free and non-toxic, certified food-safe. The matte black finish may show minor marks from metal cutlery over time; this is normal and can be removed with a paste of baking soda and water.

Hand wash only — never put wooden items in the dishwasher as the heat and moisture will cause cracking and warping. Dry immediately after washing. To condition the wood and maintain its lustre, rub with food-grade mineral oil or coconut oil every few months. This prevents drying and cracking over time.

No — beeswax wraps should not be used on raw meat, fish, or very hot foods. They are perfect for wrapping cheese, bread, fruit, vegetables, and covering bowls. Our Vegan Wax Wraps (made with plant-based wax) follow the same guidelines. For raw meat, use our Silicone Stretch Lids or glass containers.

Yes, our silicone stretch lids are 100% food-grade platinum silicone — BPA-free, phthalate-free, and non-toxic. They are oven safe up to 230°C, microwave safe, freezer safe, and dishwasher safe. They are not suitable for use on open flames.

Shipping & Returns

We offer free standard shipping on Australian orders over $75. Standard shipping (3–7 business days) is $9.95 for orders under $75. Express shipping (1–3 business days) is available for $14.95. We dispatch orders within 1–2 business days from our Perth warehouse. Rural and remote areas may require additional transit time.

Currently we ship within Australia only. We are working on international shipping to New Zealand and select countries — sign up to our newsletter to be notified when this launches.

We accept returns of unused, unopened items in original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Sale items are final sale unless faulty. For hygiene reasons, we are unable to accept returns on opened personal care products unless they are defective — if you experience an adverse reaction, please contact us and we'll work with you to find a solution.

To initiate a return, please contact us with your order number and reason for return.

Local pickup from our Perth warehouse is available by appointment. Please select "Local Pickup" at checkout, and we'll send you details to arrange a collection time. This option is free of charge.

Cleaning Products & Sustainability

Yes — our toilet cleaning bombs and other cleaning products use plant-derived, biodegradable ingredients that are safe for septic systems and greywater recycling. They are phosphate-free and formulated to biodegrade rapidly. Always check the specific product label for full ingredient details.

Our toilet cleaning bombs use essential oils (eucalyptus and lemon) which, in the diluted concentrations used for cleaning, are safe around pets once the bowl has been flushed. As a precaution, keep pets away from the toilet during and immediately after cleaning. If you have cats, note that eucalyptus oil should be used with care — we recommend the Lemon variant for cat-owning households.
